Hi Parents!
For marching band/concert band and guard, there are three important dates each summer:
Important information is provided to parents and students every summer in the annual "Big Band" Meeting. This year's Big Band meeting will be on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 6:30 PM in Patrick Henry's PHAME auditorium. If you cannot attend the meeting, check this website for electronic copies of the information that was provided.
Registration and uniform fitting is a required in-person event at Patrick Henry. Please plan to attend registration and uniform fitting between 4 and 7 PM on Friday July 17, 2026 or between 9 AM and 12 noon on Saturday, July 18. Choose one day to attend with your student(s), bring your permission and waiver forms, and expect the process to take up to 30 minutes.
Summer Workshop (= "band camp"). This year, the Summer Workshop will be July 20 - July 31, 2026. Check the calendar on our home page, which will be updated with the latest scheduling information, as it becomes available.
If your student participates in choir or orchestra:
Choir and orchestra organizational meetings will take place in August after school starts. Check the music Google Calendar for updated information.
We ask parents of all music department students to register each year through an online form.
*** Here is the online registration form! ***
Please complete it today!
Parents and students for concert band/marching band and guard should attend the annual Big Band meeting on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 6:30 PM. The meeting will include presentations from Music Director Matt Kalal and others. A large information packet will be distributed with these components:
Summer Workshop (= "band camp") schedules
Marching Band / Guard game and practice schedules
Permission and waiver forms that are required by the school district
Information about volunteer opportunities, spirit wear, fundraising and more
Please send an email to info@spiritof76boosters.com if you have any questions.
For marching band and guard students, the information packet distributed at the big band meeting will contain permission and waiver forms. Paper versions of these forms need to be filled out, signed, and filed with the PHHS office. Please complete these three forms:
Information and Medical Form & Permission to Participate and Publish (parent signature)
Extracurricular Eligibility (parent and student signatures)
Handbook receipt and uniform policy (student signature)
Band and guard students must bring your signed permission and waiver forms to the registration and uniform fitting event on July 17-18, 2026. If you have lost your forms, don't worry! We will have extra copies available.
While parents are submitting paperwork, students will be fitted for uniforms and Dinkles (marching shoes). Plan to spend 15-30 minutes at the registration and uniform fitting event.
Please send an email to info@spiritof76boosters.com if you have any questions.
Marching band students will need to purchase special Marching Socks and Marching Shoes. "B-shirts" are highly recommended but not required.
Your child will need:
Polo-shirt - Polo shirts (often called "B shirts") are worn for Pep Band games and other community events. They are not required, but highly recommended. Order using the Spirit Wear Store link.
Marching Socks - Available in the Spirit Wear Store.
Dinkles (Marching Shoes) - Use either link to purchase one pair of black shoes. We have samples in the Music Room that students can try on before ordering. You may order from either site (Band Shoes Online or Amazon). It's your choice where to order from.
Clothing items and socks
See our Volunteers page to learn about different types of volunteer opportunities, and to download a packet with the forms that are needed by the school district.
The success of Patrick Henry's large portfolio of music programs is due to our amazing music director, a wonderful and talented group of young adults, and you - the parents and caregivers. Because school district funding covers only a small portion of our programs' costs, the Spirit of '76 Boosters coordinate many fundraising activities throughout the year.
