Volunteers

The Spirit of 76 Boosters supports the instrumental music program in a variety of ways. In addition to fundraising, we rely heavily on volunteers to assure a smooth, successful and safe experience for all students. Below is an example of the variety of roles needed throughout the year. There are other needs that come up, but this provides a general idea of our needs.

Prior to each event, we will send email(s) seeking volunteers. We ask that you sign-up promptly if you are able to volunteer. It’s a wonderful way to get to know the students and other parents.

Bring a chair!

At competitions, there is a lot of “downtime” for parent volunteers. We recommend bringing a chair! There will be busy times upon arrival as we unpack everything. Then we wait while the students warm-up, stretch and practice. Then it gets busy again as the students need uniform/hair assistance. After the students compete, it gets busy again as we store uniforms and re-pack the trailer. Then there is often more downtime as we await the awards ceremony.
