Your role in Band or Color Guard comes with Fun, Music, Hard Work, and certain... fine print responsibilities and expectations. Below you will find some, but not all, listed.
Minimum 2.0 GPA Self Explanatory
Effective Time Management This is the time to learn time management, which is an important skill for all students!
Attendance at all Fundraisers, Practices, Rehearsals, Competitions and Performances Students will be excused for illness, death in the family, "once in a lifetime event", school activity such as testing, academic competitions or school trips. Details can be found in the annual Band and Color Guard Handbook.
Adherence to all Safeguards, Policies, Procedures and Rules. There are many, but they are clearly explained. Check the Handbook, where most are defined.
Participant Expense, (Permissible Student Expenses) There are permissible and mandatory fees that meet with state law and district guidlines. Timely payment is expected or, at your option, personal fundraising programs are available to meet all, or part, of your expenses. If there are any issues with funding your participation, PLEASE make arrangements by direct discussion with, and agreement of, Mr. Kalal. There are always options if you plan ahead and communicate your situation to Mr. K so that something equitable can be worked out. We want you to participate above all else!
