In the UT: "ACLU wants illegal fees refunded to local students"
The actual letter to the district from the ACLU:
"We ask that the district promptly investigate these matters and ensure that schools collect only those fees specifically allowed by the California Constitution and refund any fees that have been improperly charged."
The Spirit of 76 Boosters:
In late 2009, we began working with district and school administration to ensure full public disclosure of our financial practices and compliance with district guidance on the State Constitution, Education Code, and case law precedence. Our FAQ has the answers you are looking for.
