Grants could add to the Prop S Auditorium
Patrick Henry High CTE 1D Facilities Grant Request

After more than 40 years of waiting, PHHS still not have an Auditorium or adequate facilities to host the classes students are already enrolled in.

Flip through the
PowerPoint to learn why and how we can fix the problem now!

PHHS Performance Classes
are experiencing back to back double digit enrollment increases!

Henry has successful and growing programs, but not the facilities.  Is it possible to maintain the success of these programs without adequate acoustic space?

Instrumental Music
80, 90, 100+

Why does PHHS need an auditorium?

One example - Picture a 120 piece symphony with a 40 member choir playing in your high school cafeteria.
That image is the PHHS Cafetorium.

Acoustically, this is about as bad as it gets… and good luck trying to see anyone on stage behind the first row..
We're not asking for Corinthian Leather... just adequate seating.
The students overwhelm the existing cafetorium stage.
This picture was taken from a 16' ladder to illustrate just how much is not visible from the folding chairs the audience sits in.
Patrick Henry NEEDS an adequate Auditorium!
Very basic, scaled back, proposed PHHS Auditorium plus CTE classroom space in gold

Dear School and Community,

Thank you for turning out at the Nov. 2, 2010 Board meeting in support of the Auditorium and CTE Grant!  The District has voted to move forward with the CTE grant and matching funds to add to the Auditorium.

Final project totals:
$9.7 Million

Auditorium (shown in gray):
Prop S funds will provide $6.3 Million for the basic auditorium

Career Technical Education (CTE) classroom spaces (shown in gold): The State CTE Grant will provide $1.4 Million to go toward the classroom spaces
The District's facilities fund will provide $1.9 Million in matching funds for those classroom spaces to qualify for the CTE grant money

Approved!
THE

District Board voted
Tuesday
Feb. 9, 2010

to formally approve the

PHHS Auditorium
Project.

Thank you for
YOUR Support!
